The Luminary Arts‘ Elevator Series latest offering, Washed Out, was possibly too large for the Luminary’s basement confines and moved over the eclectic Plush for an evening of dreamy electronics, with locals CaveofswordS opening. Bright lights and equally blown out shots. Here’s a selection of shots from the evening.
So tired, but so good. Washed Out‘s debut show in STL was put on by the Luminary Arts at Plush and there were a ton of people out for the show. Be sure to keep an eye on the Luminary Arts’ FB page for pictures from the night. We’ll be back in a few days with a recap.
Welcome to Radar Blips, where I quickly highlight three shows that catch my eye. Go see a show and make sure to find another sport to follow now that the NBA season is over.
The Walkmen | Plush | Th. 6/28
Their last show at Off Broadway was seriously the most packed show I’ve been to at the venue. I’m still pretty sure it’ll fill up Plush, so be sure to get there early!
Water Liars / Bo and the Locomotive | Off Broadway | Fri. 6/29
It’s like Kickstarter with immediate rewards! The show is a fundraiser for Water Liars upcoming tour and BATL’s trip to the Bunbury Festival and Daytrotter session.
Paper Route | The Firebird | Sat. 6/30
Their new album, The Peace of Wild Things, doesn’t come out until September, but the Nashville synth-poppers still have more than enough tunes from their last album Absence to get you dancing along on the weekend.
Welcome to Radar Blips, where I quickly highlight three shows that catch my eye. Go see a show and DVR the NBA playoffs for later viewing.
Tim Barry w/Jenny Owen Youngs | Off Broadway | Wed. 5/9
The former Avail singer showcases his folkier side with the spunky Jenny Owen Youngs in tow.
Schoolboy Q | Plush | Wed. 5/9
Just FYI, it looks like this show shifted from the Old Rock House to Plush. Get down with one of the Black Hippy crew.
Tennis | Plush | Fri. 5/11
The sublime pop of Tennis should set you off on a good tone for the weekend.
