Joe Pug and his band stopped by the KDHX Studio to record an in-studio performance and talk about their latest album, The Great Despiser, on Gold Soundz. Fans can head over to the KDHX website now and stream the three-song set (The Sharpest Crown/How Good You Are/The Great Despiser). Enjoy the session and check out some shots from their appearance below.
Over a year ago, I decided to check out Gold Motel at the Firebird on a whim and the Chicago band’s sun-kissed pop easily won me over. So when the band returned to record an interview and trio of songs for Gold Soundz, of course I jumped on the chance to capture their in-studio time at KDHX. Go forth and stream the performance and check out more pictures from the event after the jump.
The now-Brooklyn-based trio Jukebox the Ghost stopped by the KDHX Studios before their appearance at The Firebird to record a short set (“Somebody”/”Oh Emily”/”Don’t Let Me Fall Behind”) and interview for Gold Soundz. Go forth and stream it for free on KDHX’s website and check out some more photos from the afternoon below.
On a personal note, I also got the chance to meet Charlotte Zoller, who I consider to be one of my favorite concert photographers, currently serving as the tour manager for the group. If you picked up the new Japandroids album, that’s her shot on the back cover.
