I’m new to the art of Brandon Graham, having been exposed to his out-there relaunch of the Image series, Prophet, and now making my way through his prior work in King City. However, St. Louis discovered the West Coast artist has quite the fanbase as he stopped by Star Clipper (and only three other lucky comic shops nationwide) to celebrate the release (or resuming, might be the better word) of his new ongoing series, Multiple Warheads.

Brandon was quite the guest, sketching every book and issue brought by fans in the ever-increasing line. And not just quick faces or signatures, but literally anything and everything attendants wanted. It was a really awesome offering to those in line that had travelled hours for the event (I stood next to others who came in from Chicago and Indiana).

Yup. He drew everything. And stuff you probably couldn’t even imagine.

As you’d expect, I had to have him add to my ongoing Calvin & Hobbes sketchbook and his Prophet-ized Calvin was insane. (Note the “K” tattoo on his arm, referring to Calvin Johnson of K Records!) Word is that Brandon stayed until 2 AM signing and sketching. What an awesome dude. Go check out Multiple Warheads and definitely support Star Clipper for hosting such a fun event.
