Cage the Elephant provided one of the more memorable moments of Kanrocksas, with Matthew Schultz leaping into the crowd just moments into the first song.
The Good: One of the weekend’s questions was seeing which “smaller” bands would feel out of place in the larger festival environment. Cage played with so much aggression and owned the stage that they were one of the few bands at Kanrocksas that made the festival stage feel like a crowded venue show.
The Bad: Schultz was on fire and was so attention grabbing with his shouting that I overlooked spending more time shooting the other band members. Not having my 28-75mm lens at my disposal when Schultz went crowd surfing.
The Irrelevant: Schultz rocking a Manchester Orchestra shirt.
