When I first arrived at the Old Rock House for the 5 Score Pachyderm showcase, I made a bee-line to the blog’s brainchild Travis to say hello, where he then introduced me to the another gentleman at the bar with him. “Meet Jeremiah Nelson.”
Madison Utopia, Jeremiah treated guests that night to work from Drugs to Make You Sober and Take Me Down the Interstate. For this evening, it was just Jeremiah and his guitar at work and while it completely fit the intimate setting, I do enjoy the instrumentation from what I’ve heard on his albums and would like to see him again with a full band.
Photography-wise, the Old Rock House lights tend to either give your shots breathtaking effects or nightmares. With most of the lights turned off except for the back red/green lights, it was unfortunately the latter making it a really dark set to work with. Still, I managed to use the lights to get some nice backlighting and salvage a few shots to bring back.
