A stint opening for State Radio brought singer Sarah Jaffe back through St. Louis, this time to the Old Rock House. While the Denton, TX native has played the city several times before, I’ve missed her previous appearances and wanted to break that streak after repeated listens to her last album, The Body Wins, over the last month.
For the Denton, TX native it wasn’t her first stop in STL, but it was the first time I was able to catch one of her performances. More pics and a recap to come!
One of my 2012 resolutions was to make a more concerted effort to shoot local bands and the fine folks of Scarlet Tanager were kind enough to let me shoot their show last night at the Old Rock House, opening for He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister.
Happy Sunday evening. Just a quick preview of Scarlet Tanager’s set from this evening at Old Rock House.
More to come!
Welcome back. Be sure to check out #6 – #10 on our list if you missed it.
Onward to my top five concerts of 2011!
It’s pretty safe bet that Strange Mercy will end up as one of my favorite albums of the year and hearing St. Vincent perform at the Old Rock House with Cate Le Bon definitely helped cement that.
Lighting was definitely NOT a problem last night for St. Vincent, which is why you guys get treated to two preview pictures.
More photos and post to come. Happy Friday!
The Blow (Mikhaela Maricich) has been around for well over a decade but I’ll admit that I’m not very familiar with her work and didn’t know what to expect at her show at the Old Rock House.
